HISTORY, Page 4

In June of 1989, five years prior to the BRAC’s decision to close Lowry AFB, SMSgt Brian M. Johnson compiled a history from Metrology Training Division resources. Subject matter includes how Air Force Metrology Requirements evolved, establishing a career field, student selections, school manning (usually short), how instructor assignments were affected, course content and length, the introduction of new courses and updating older ones, the introduction of Advanced Instructional System (AIS) to the school, integration of both 1st term and WAF students into the career field, and finally…the integration of Army, Navy, and Marine Corp training with existing Lowry AFB Metrology Training.
