Each summer the Metrology School Staff members and their families would enjoy a picnic at the Fitzsimons Army Medical
Center’s Picnic Grounds. The University of Colorado acquired the Fitzsimons property after the center was closed, and
erected a beautiful campus replete with new buildings…and a rehabilitated picnic area. If this area wasn’t available, Tim &
Maggie Rash would often times volunteer their home as the location for the PMEL annual picnic.

the Fitzsimons property after the center was closed, erecting
new buildings on a beautiful campus. The city of Aurora
maintains the picnic grounds, referred to as Generals Park. If
this area wasn’t available, Tim & Maggie Rash would often
times volunteer their home as the location for the PMEL annual
picnic.
