Position Description:
ITT Aerospace/Communications (A/CD), Ft. Wayne, IN

Performs electrical, physical/dimensional, and mechanical tests and inspections. May perform system procedures or product audits. Also includes various duties of complex technical nature including, but not limited to wiring, constructing, assembling, inspecting, testing, cleaning, troubleshooting, repairing and calibrating electronic and/or electro-mechanical test and measuring equipment. Implements the quality control program on an assigned project to insure conformance of the product to quality standards and specifications.

Experience Requirements:
Equivalent Education Level Required - Graduation from High School plus two years formal technical training.

Experience Required - Minimum four years applicable technician experience, i.e. experience in repair and calibration of electronic test equipment. Experience using physical dimensional calibration tools required. Experience with PHYS/D preferred.

Knowledge Required - Requires a high degree of skill and ability in the technician field. Must be able to work from incomplete design information using specialized equipment and techniques. Requires application knowledge of Standard ISO/IEC 17025. PMEL training preferred.
Must be US Citizen or Permanent Resident.

The Largest missile systems manufacturing plant located in Tucson Arizona has an immediate opening for Calibration Service Technician.  

This occupation requires initial and periodic testing, calibration, and certification of electronic and electromechanical test equipment - under manufacturing and standards lab conditions - prior to use in testing other equipment, components, units, and systems during quality acceptance.
Also, performs diagnosis, repair, and modification servicing commercial and  RMS designed electronic and electromechanical test equipment, including functional and operational testing.

*  Minimum three (3) years experience in operation, calibration, maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of electronic and electromechanical test equipment in a manufacturing or standards laboratory environment; or, equivalanet technical training in metrology and calibration and repair of test equipment.

PELF Lab Manager

The person filling this position is the resident expert in his/her field and, in conjunction with the Kuwait Senior Engineer, provides engineering/consultant services. This person also conducts research and studies new equipment to ensure that the latest developments in technique and equipment are included in metrology planning for future acquisition. Required Experience:

Completed a 4 year degree in electrical engineering, physics or engineering technology OR

Completed a US military precision measurement and calibration program or equivalent training and have 12 years work experience in the calibration field AND have 8 years experience in technical oversight, measurement assurance and training responsibilities of calibration and repair technicians with at least 3 years within the last 5 years OR

The individual will coordinate and oversee UL Melville’s instrument calibration system and processes. Their specific responsibilities will include the following:

Perform calibrations on electrical and mechanical instruments
Write calibration procedures that are compliant with ISO 17025
Arrange instrument calibrations by approved calibration vendors
Evaluate calibration vendors for use by UL
Revue all calibration certificates and data performed by calibration vendors
Initiate and monitor all instrument out of tolerance investigations (Trace backs)
Monitor and report on all Melville calibration expenses

Due to the specific needs and responsibilities of this position, instrument calibration, a suitable candidate may be found with military training only and no advance technical degrees. The military training associated with instrument calibration is usually referred to as PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory) training. However, other individuals may have a 2 or 4 year technical degree and meet the same requirements of the position.

ASQ (American Society of Quality) CCT (Certified Calibration Technician) a plus.
